Lymphatic drainage (MLD) or Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT)
is a "retraining" of the lymph to make it flow faster and more
efficiently. Nicole has been a qualified therapist since 1991. She holds certification in Anatomy & Physiology, Remedial Massage and Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Therapy. In order to become a MLD Practitioner she trained at the Dr Vodder School, in North America and Austria. As a member of MLD UK, Nicole is also registered as a practicing member of Lymph Drainage and is listed on the Lymphœdema Support Network. Nicole holds many presentations to various meeting groups including patients, doctors, physiotherapists and nursing staff. She presented a case study of a young child with primary lymphœdema at last years MLD Conference and is due to talk at Chelmsford Polytechnic for Trainee Nursing Staff later this year.
Nicole receives referrals from Dr J Singer MBBS, MRCP,
FRCR, Mr Bradpiece and Mr Morgan. If patients are seen by any of
the above consultants or the Breast Care nurses within St Margaret's
Hospital, Epping and Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow, they will receive MLD
treatment for Secondary Lymphœdema of the affected arm following Breast
cancer surgery, which is funded by the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity. Detailed within this Web Site are the conditions which MLD treats and patient testimonials of the success of the treatment.
Nicole
works within St Margaret's hospital in Epping,
Essex and can see private-paying patients there.
